The Vale do Capão is the starting point for the region's activities and trails. Some waterfalls and rivers are just minutes from the center, ideal for half-day outings, while others are kilometers away and require better preparation.
Set in a tropical climate, the valley has high temperatures and is home to countless species of flora and fauna, many of them endemic. In the lowlands, the vegetation is dense and humid, forming a transition forest between cerrado and Atlantic Forest. On the higher ground, the Brazilian cerrado prevails, with smaller trees and resilient shrubs.
